Heather A. Prendergast

Heather Prendergast began practicing law in 1995 in Champaign County, Illinois. At that time, she was licensed to practice law in Illinois and served as a prosecutor with the Champaign County Attorney’s Office. In 1998, she moved to Joplin, Missouri, where she became licensed to practice law in Missouri; then Heather became license in Kansas in 1999, as well as with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. At that time, she joined the law firm of Blanchard, Robertson, Mitchell & Carter, P.C., in Joplin, Missouri, and primarily practiced insurance defense litigation.

In 2000, she moved to Iowa, received her license to practice law in Iowa, and began practicing with the Black Hawk County Attorney’s Office. She later jointed Jay Roberts and Carter Stevens as a partner in the firm in 2006.

She is the appointed City Attorney for Elk Run Heights, Fairbank, Hudson and the Hudson Municipal Electric Utility. Heather Prendergast was featured in the Waterloo Courier’s "20 under 40" segment for her accomplishments. Read More
